The CBX was Honda's technology show for the late 70's. It's 6 cylinder (and 6 carbs)
24 valve engine is one of the most complex every put in a motorcycle.
The International CBX Owners Association (ICOA) is a great resource for CBX information. Description of my bike from previous owner: 5,500 original miles. This cycle has slight damage in the front and small dent in the tank. Needs fork tubes, signals and minor work to the fairing. Exhaust is in excellent shape with no rust. Seat has no rips. This is the last year this cycle was made. This is an easy restoration. These pictures were taken before the restoration: |
Midway through the restoration. Replaced gas tank, fairing shell, fairing frame, fork
tubes and triple tree, sidecovers, front fender, front right signal, engine protection
bars, cleaned and bled brakes. Still needed: right handlebar, left and right switch assemblies, inner half of left saddlebag, grips, front wheel, new tires, grab-rail mount (behind seat), clean carbs. |
